College Internships
Edsel & Eleanor Ford House is offering unpaid internships in the areas of collections, exhibitions, archives, and research.
Ford House interns work closely with museum professionals on a variety of projects to gain insight into the workings of a historic site. Tasks may include:

Exhibition and collection research

Processing archival collections

Object photography
-
Cataloging collections
-
Data entry
-
Digitizing photographic collections
-
Exhibit preparation
-
Handling artifacts
-
Other assignments depending upon the interests and skills of the student
Candidates must be able to handle objects with extreme care, write neatly, work with detailed numbering systems, keep accurate and clear records, and work with computerized data and word processing software. Preferred majors include history, art history, material culture/anthropology, museum studies, archival science, or related fields. Previous museum or gallery experience is not required.
