Edsel & Eleanor Ford House is an excellent educational resource to help compliment in-classroom learning, youth and Scout programs.  Tours for up to 105 students are offered at a reduced rate ($4 per student) and are available year-round. A minimum of one adult chaperon is recommended for every 15 students.

Michigan History Tour

Third and fourth grade teachers find Edsel & Eleanor Ford House an especially appealing place to visit when teaching Michigan History lessons. The program includes:
  • A PowerPoint presentation provided to prepare students for their visit.
  • A teacher's packet with pre- and post-visit activities.
  • A guided tour of the house, grounds and outer buildings, focusing on the history of Gaulker Pointe, from the time that Native Americans occupied the site to the French ribbon farms to the time Ford House was constructed. Students learn about the influence of the Ford family and automobile industry in general.
  • A hands-on project for students to complete on site.
Scout Groups
Ford House is the perfect place for both Boy and Girl Scout groups to earn badges. Programs have been developed to meet many different badge requirements.  Contact the group tour sales department to discuss your scout group needs.

Lunch
When visiting during the school day, students may bring their lunch to enjoy in the picnic area or inside the Activities Center classroom, depending on the weather.
