The Ford House

Edsel & Eleanor Ford House tells the story of the home life of a prominent American family.

Tribute Garden

The vibrant blossoms of the Tribute Garden honor Eleanor Ford and all the women who have made a difference our lives.

The garden is located adjacent to the Visitors Center, and features both annuals and perennials suitable for cut flowers. This is an homage to the historic use of the space, as landscape architect Jens Jensen designated it as a service and farm area for the Ford Family. And it is fitting because Mrs. Ford was particularly fond of fresh cut flowers.

The palette also features colors favored by Mrs. Ford -- white, yellow and blue -- and a variety of flowers, including Gaillardia, Gladiola, Liatris, Lupine, Marigolds, Osteospormum, annual Salvia, Tulips, Phlox, Columbine, Coneflower, Roses and others. The diversity of plants provides early color and blooms all season long.

Honoring Your Special Women

With a tax-deductible donation, your loved one will be honored in the garden. Make your tributes in honor of a mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece or any special woman in your life.

If you choose, Ford House will also mail a Mother’s Day card to your honoree informing her of your special gift, if received by April 30, 2016.

We start planting the Tribute Garden in May. After that we invite you, your honoree and family to visit often and enjoy the garden.
