From Asia to the Amazon and from the Pacific Northwest to Southeast Michigan, the world is losing its trees. The threats include diseases, insects, and manmade destruction. It’s enough to make a tree hugger — or anyone who enjoys an apple, a Christmas tree, or the sound of a wooden violin — shed a few tears. Edsel & Eleanor Ford House presents a special exhibit, Vanishing Acts: Trees Under Threat, that both outlines the problems as well as giving suggestions about ways to protect and conserve our forests. Created by Illinois’ Morton Arboretum, the traveling exhibit will be displayed on a self-guided trail and includes interactive family activities and games along the stops.
The outdoor walking trail will take you out on to Bird Island for a special exploration of one of Eleanor Ford's favorite walking paths.
Access to Vanishing Acts is included with general tour admission and grounds admission and is free to Members.
The exhibit is sponsored locally by the professional members of the Michigan Nursery & Landscape Association who encourage you to Plant Michigan Green! Visit www.plantmichigangreen.com to learn how.
