| Edsel & Eleanor Ford House
1100 Lake Shore Rd.
Detroit architect Albert Kahn's legacy can be seen not only in the skyline of city, but also in the stunning lakeside residence of Edsel and Eleanor Ford.
While our general house tour focuses more on family history, on this tour you will learn more about the architecture and design of the home. In particular, you will learn how Kahn’s industrial vision and artistic achievements are reflected in the design of the Fords’ Cotswold-style estate.
Your guide will take you inside and outside the home, as well as to the attic and basement, to give you a close up look at Kahn's masterpiece. Please dress for the weather and be prepared to navigate several sets of stairs.
After the tour, be sure to stop in our Visitor Center for our Friday "Ask Our Experts" program from 2-4 p.m. A Ford House staff member will be on hand to take your questions about their area of expertise!
Architecture tours are offered on Fridays from noon-1:30 p.m. Cost is $18 for non-members, $15 for members. Tickets are available in advance here:
