Garden Workshop: Get Rid of Your Lawn
Thinking of joining the "no mow" movement? Learn how to replace your turf with native and noninvasive climate-friendly ground cover that can thrive here in Michigan. Join James Cieslinski and Kevin Drotos of Ford House’s landscapes team as they lead you through making the plunge to a pollinator-friendly ecosystem outside your home.
Cost: $10 general public, $5 Ford House members
This is an online workshop. You will receive an access code and a link to use to join the meeting. Our program uses the Zoom platform. You will need to download the Zoom app to your smartphone or tablet, or log into the Zoom website before you begin the workshop.
James works as the Manager of Landscapes and coordinates with staff for the care of the historical 87 estate once owned by Edsel and Eleanor Ford. James has been working at Ford House for 9 years and has been in the industry for nearly 20 years. James holds an Associates degree in Horticulture and has been a Certified Arborist for 5 years. As an avid outdoor enthusiast working outside with nature has always been a mission for him. When he is not on the grounds of the Ford House he spends his time vegetable gardening, caring for bees, backpacking, creating pottery and stained glass art, and spending time with family and friends.
