Art in the Meadow - Watercolors
Let the beauty, color and light of fall's first blush on the gardens and grounds of Ford House inspire you.
Watercolorist Denise Willing Booher will offer tips and techniques as you set up your easel outside on the estate's lawn.
This workshop is for artists at any experience level who are 16 years or older. Participants must bring their own supplies. Find a recommended supply list below.
Tickets are $30 for Ford House members, $35 for nonmembers.
Paper suggested options:
(Suggestion: bring a manageable size watercolor paper size of 9 x 12 or less in cold press or hot press)
1. Cold/hot press watercolor paper stretched on gatorboard
2. Cold/hot press watercolor paper 300 lb
3. Cold press watercolor board or panel
4. Cold press watercolor paper block
Sketch book small/ Pencil eraser
Container for water & water
Butchers tray or white tray or container for a mixing palette (suggest Styrofoam plates from the dollar store
Watercolor Brushes – (suggested) flat wash brush 1.5” & Round brushes 8 & 12 (Princeton Elite brushes are good inexpensive brushes)
Watercolor paints: Primary colors Yellow/Blue/Red
Plein Air/regular easel or portable chair with a board to paint on
Paper towels or Kleenex
Hat & Sunscreen and your sense of humor
Bottle water & snack
