Archive Your Story: Oral Histories
The sound of a loved one’s voice and their personal memories -- These are priceless pieces of your family’s history.
Join us to learn about interviewing formats, recording equipment and techniques, and storage of sound files recommended by professional archivists. Then you can save your family’s stories and pass them on for generations.
The workshop will be led by Noah Levinson, an Oral History Project Coordinator at Ford House. He has transcribed oral histories from Ford family members and conducted interviews with longtime Ford House staff. Noah also works with the archives at American Museum of Photography. He earned a master’s in Museum Studies from the State University of New York, Cooperstown, and a bachelor’s in American Culture at University of Michigan. Ford House preserves a vast collection of historical photographs, documents, film and more.
The workshop will be presented online using the Zoom platform. You will receive a link and password upon registration.
Cost: $10 general public, $5 Ford House members
