2016 Trim-A-Tree Contest Winners!
Posted: January 4, 2017

Once again, our local schools showed creativity and craftiness in our Edsel & Eleanor Ford House Trim-A-Tree contest.

Now, we are happy to announce the winner of the 2016 contest, which was generously sponsored by Camelot Tree & Shrub Co.

Throughout December, Ford House displayed trees decorated by children from 19 Grosse Pointe and St. Clair Shores elementary schools. Thousands of Ford House visitors voted for their favorite trees during our Winter Wonderland weekend events in December.

The top three schools will receive $500, $250 and $100 donations, respectively, to use in their art departments. And the winners are:

1st place: Ardmore Elementary in St. Clair Shores.
2nd place: Princeton Elementary in St. Clair Shores.
3rd place: Ferry Elementary in Grosse Pointe Woods.

The winning tree from Ardmore featured decorations using colored and laminated handprints from children in the school.

In the spring, Ford House will donate all the trees to Greening of Detroit to plant in the city.

All of the entries were outstanding! Thanks to everyone who participated.
