Enjoy Nature on a Bird Walk
Posted: August 30, 2009

Edsel & Eleanor Ford House is offering monthly, guided bird walks this fall for enthusiasts and families who want to connect with the outdoors.

Participants will join Rosann Kovolcik of Wild Birds Unlimited as she helps local bird watchers discover the rewards of birding, followed by refreshments as they  tally their sightings.
Bird Walks for adults are scheduled for:
September 26 at 7:30 a.m.
October 24 at 7:30 p.m.
November 21 at 8 a.m.

Family Bird Walks are offered:
September 26 at 10 a.m.
October 24 at 10 a.m.
Following a guided exploration of the Ford House grounds, kids will make their own bird feeders to take home so that they can bird watch in their own backyard. The family bird walks are recommended for families with children ages 6-12.

The gardens and grounds of Ford House cover 86 acres along Lake St. Clair where you can see an extraordinary variety of trees, flowers and birds.  We encourage nature lovers and families to witness the beauty and power of flight of the 150 species of birds that bird lovers have seen over the  years here.

Individual bird walks are $7 per person and family bird walks are $5 per person plus $3.25 for materials. Reservations are required; please call (313) 884-4222 to secure your place.
