Elegant Evening Holiday Tours
Posted: December 19, 2007

If the hustle and bustle on the weekends and the 9-to-5 workdays are keeping you from enjoying a little holiday cheer, Edsel & Eleanor Ford House has just the ticket – Holiday Evening Tours on Thursday, December 20 from 6 – 8 p.m. – the Holiday Evening Tours provide a little of that holiday magic at a time that works for those with busy schedules. Tickets are $11 and no reservations are required.

Carolers will great guests as they enter the expansive home, all decked out with twinkling lights on the trees and electric “candles” in the windows. Their guided tour will take them through the historic Cotswold home where they’ll hear about Ford family holiday traditions and see the festive decorations. Complimentary hot chocolate awaits them when they return to the Activities Center.

“We realize how busy people are this time of year and that evenings are sometimes the only time they can find a moment to do something special,” explained Jennifer Welsh, events and programming manager. “We hope that visitors can escape their hectic schedules and enjoy the peaceful elegance of Ford House.”

An added feature to this year’s yuletide festivities is Elegance in Entertaining: Traditions at the Estate, a specially focused exhibition and tour woven throughout the holiday décor that explores the many different ways the Fords entertained in their home.

Holiday tours continue through January 6, 2008. Tours are given Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sundays noon – 4 p.m. Ford House will also be open Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
