And the Trim-a-Tree Winners are
Posted: January 4, 2016

We were wowed by the wonderful creativity local children showed in our first-ever Ford House Trim-a-Tree contest. The children made snowman ornaments, wilderness-themed crafts, and even decked out a tree in “Frozen” style.

Now, we are happy to announce the winner of the contest, which was generously sponsored by Camelot Tree & Shrub Co.

Throughout December, Ford House displayed trees decorated by children from 20 Grosse Pointe and St. Clair Shores elementary schools. Thousands of Ford House visitors voted for their favorite trees during our Winter Wonderland weekends in December.

The top three schools will receive $500, $250 and $100 donations, respectively, to use in their art departments. And the winners are:

  • 1st place: Mason Elementary in Grosse Pointe Woods.
  • 2nd place: James Rodgers Elementary in St. Clair Shores.
  • 3rd place: Princeton Elementary in St. Clair Shores.

As a bonus, Ford House will return and plant all of the schools’ trees in the spring.

All of the entries were outstanding! Thanks to everyone who participated.
