Bird Island, Power House, and Pool Closed Temporarily
Posted: August 7, 2019

Bird Island, the Power House, and the Pool are closed at this time.

For your safety, Bird Island is not open for walks due to construction of our new Visitor Center and Administration Building. The island will reopen when the buildings are completed in spring 2020. Click here for more information on the new buildings project.

The Power House is temporarily inaccessible due to high water levels and flooding. The Power House will reopen as soon as possible.

The Pool area is currently enclosed with a fence for your safety as this historic feature undergoes restoration work. Restoration projects like these help us ensure the pool can be seen by generations of visitors to come as we continue to tell the stories of the Fords' lives on the estate.

Open for your enjoyment as usual, please visit the Main House, the Play House, the Pool House, grounds, gardens and the Historic Garage (temporary visitor center) during the regular scheduled hours.
