Earth Day Activities for Everyone at Home
Posted: April 21, 2020
Happy 50th Anniversary of Earth Day!
Even though we can’t spend Earth Day (April 22), with you at Ford House this year, we hope you and your family can take some time and do some fun, green-friendly activities at home.
Ford House’s Education Team has created the following all-ages activities for you at home. These are meant for all ages to find ways to be green and to explore the natural world around us – even in our own backyards and neighborhoods.
So, take some time to celebrate our wonderful Earth, and we hope we can see you at Ford House soon.
Lake St. Clair A-Z
Create your own Lake St. Clair Alphabet book! Get familiar with some of the animals that thrive in and around Lake St. Clair, and their habitats, too. Learn new vocabulary words used to describe the physical features of various waterways. You can print out our pages, create your own on recycled paper, or create your own digital version.
50 Days of Action
For the next 50 days, here are 50 things you can do to add more healthy, sustainable actions into your everyday routines. Download this calendar and check off all that you accomplish.
Adopt a Tree!
Explore nature in a new way! Choose a tree in your yard or at your local park. Take time to observe it and then choose from one of four activities. Each activity includes a simple worksheet that is designed for all ages. You can download and print out the activity sheets, or use them as guides to do the activities in your own notebook at home.
