Ford House Closed in January
Posted: January 9, 2015

With more than 60,000 people visiting the estate last year, it’s no wonder the specialists with the Collections Care and Historic Buildings teams take the month of January to give the home and collection some TLC. Throughout the month, these museum professionals will complete conservation, maintenance and deep cleaning projects that are necessary for the preservation and care of the estate. Some of tasks on this year’s list include installing new carpeting, washing crystal glasses, waxing floors and walls, removing mold from certain collection items, cleaning carpets, dusting books and much more. In order for them to complete these and many other tasks, the estate is closed for the month of January. We look forward to welcoming guests again when tours resume Tuesday, February 3.
