Ford House is Closed for Collections Care
Posted: January 7, 2019

As we do every winter, Ford House has closed to address important conservation and preservation projects.

These maintenance and deep cleaning projects are necessary to keep the Fords' historic home and the beautiful objects in it in tip-top shape.

The estate will be closed from Jan. 7-April 1, re-opening for tours on April 2.

Members may still access the grounds for walks from 7 a.m.-dusk daily. However, public restrooms will not be accessible during this time. Members should please refer to the attached map to see which walking paths are maintained during the snowy and icy season.

We look forward to welcoming guests again when tours resume Tuesday, April 2. To plan your visit, please check our admission prices and hours here

In the meantime, watch our events page for fun and education programs we have planned in 2019. Our big events will include

  • Bunny Fun in April
  • Welcome Back Birds in May
  • EyesOn Design Car Show in on Father's Day
  • An Evening of Roses in June
  • Detroit Symphony Orchestra concerts in July
  • and much, much more.
