Video: Learn About Improvements and Green Projects at the Ford House
Posted: March 1, 2016

The Edsel & Eleanor Ford House has taken the first steps towards a comprehensive plan to restore, reconstruct, and rehabilitate the estate to when it was occupied by Edsel and Eleanor Ford and their family. Our projects are making the Ford House greener, too!

Watch this video to learn about improvements at the Ford House, including:

  • A new bridge Bird Island to make Ford Cove cleaner!
  • A new, green storm-water management system with an earthy friendly “bioswale” pond.
  • New greener irrigation and electrical systems – the first entirely new system in 90 years!
  • Expanding the berm system around the perimeter of the property – a project initiated by the Ford Family in the 1970s to protect the estate from floodwaters.

We have seen evidence that the changes are working, as more wildlife is returning to Ford Cove.
