Memorial Day
Thank you to all who have served our country. Ford House is open Saturday and Sunday but will be closed on Memorial Day (Monday).
Eleanor's Birthday Tea and Tour
Bring your friends and loved ones for an elegant tea service with small bites and sweets in our beautiful Lakeshore Room overlooking Ford Cove and Lake St. Clair.
After the tea, take a stroll at your own pace through the historic home and spend time enjoying Eleanor’s favorite places on the estate. What to wear? It’s a great excuse to wear your favorite hat or party dress, but you may want to wear shoes comfortable enough for walking the grounds and going up and down stairs.
Tickets are $70 for non-members, $55 for Ford House members
In order to guarantee your party will sit together, purchase all of your group’s tickets in one purchase order. If you have questions or need to seat a party larger than 8, reach out to mbauman@fordhouse.org or call 313-692-4105.
Tea Service Menu Items: Various scones, specialty sandwiches, canapes, and desserts.
About Eleanor Clay Ford:
She was born on June 6, 1896. Her father died when she was 12 years old, and she moved with her mother and sister into the art-filled home of her uncle, Joseph L. Hudson, owner of Detroit’s premier department store. She married Edsel Ford in 1916, and they had four children together. She was an avid art collector and philanthropist, and her generosity includes leaving this estate to the community upon her death in 1976.
