Wood floors are character-defining features of most historic buildings and are easily misunderstood… and often mistreated. Join Steve Stuckey, former architectural conservator of George Washington’s Mount Vernon home and current executive director and architectural conservator for the Tower Heritage Center, on a journey about wood floors in historic buildings.

This exciting session goes into detail about types of wood flooring used over time in historic buildings, how flooring was made and installed, and some common finishes used throughout history. Some discussion will be around how to best preserve and restore wood flooring. There will be fabulous images and drawings of wood flooring, and, as always, lots of energy! So don’t miss out!
