Hear about how automotive industry cast-offs can become beautiful and useful objects.

Sanchari Mahapatra is a professional color, materials, and textile designer who has worked in the automotive and textile industries for the last 12 years. She will talk about her life, work, and her projects, including “Materials’ Afterlife” which involved the rebirth of Detroit automotive leather waste into playful balls for children.

This talk is free and part of the Detroit Month of Design. We ask that you pre-register as space is limited. Ford House requires all visitors wear masks indoors.
