The holidays are all aglow at Ford House. Join us for winter wonderland filled with glittering lights throughout the grounds and explore the tasteful elegance of the home's interior, decorated as Eleanor Ford would have done.

Santa and Mrs. Claus are busy preparing for a sleigh-full of holiday events at Ford House this winter. From Cookies with Santa, our Holiday Tea & Tour, Breakfast with Santa (an annual favorite), and our 21+ holiday party, Mistletoe Mingle.

Our annual walking experience is even bigger and brighter than in years past. Home for the Holidays at Ford House incorporates more lights and more magic for 2023.

Join us for a magical celebration of the winter holidays with our new winter experience, where visitors will enjoy a brilliantly lit evening walk throughout the historic estate, marveling at the glittering white lights sparkling all around and the first floor of the Main Residence and marvel at its understated elegance, a look inspired by Eleanor Ford’s tastes and wishes. Each ticket includes a complimentary hot chocolate, and adults can “upgrade” their cocoa for a nominal fee.

This sparkling adventure throughout the grounds, gardens, and Main Residence will leave you filled with joy and brightness on these dark winter nights. Join us every Friday through Sunday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., from Friday, November 24 through Saturday, December 30. Get tickets at fordhouse.org.

Cookies with SantaCookies with Santa

Listen in as your little ones share their Christmas wishes with the elf himself. Santa and Mrs. Claus make their annual stop at Ford House to visit your children. Kids enjoy a fresh-baked cookie from Mrs. Claus. Bring your own camera and take your photos to cherish this holiday moment. Cookies with Santa takes place on the following dates:

  • Saturday, December 2
  • Tuesday, December 5
  • Saturday, December 9
  • Tuesday, December 12
  • Wednesday, December 13
  • Saturday, December 16

Breakfast with SantaBreakfast with Santa

Have breakfast with Santa this holiday season at Ford House in our Lake Shore room. Each ticket includes a delicious selection from multiple breakfast stations, beautiful views of Ford Cove and Lake St. Clair, and a visit from Santa. Bring your camera and capture a holiday memory you’ll treasure forever. Breakfast with Santa takes place at 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, December 3 and Sunday, December 17.

Holiday TeaHoliday Tea & Tour

Bring your friends and loved ones for an elegant tea service with small bites and sweets in our beautiful Lake Shore Room overlooking Ford Cove and Lake St. Clair. After the tea, take a stroll at your own pace through the historic home and spend time enjoying the Christmas decor. Our Holiday Tea & Tour takes place at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 10.

Mistletoe Mingle

Mistletoe Mingle

Perhaps the most raucous of holiday events, our Mistletoe Mingle is an evening party for guests 21 and older. Celebrate the holidays with a night out at Ford House. Enjoy drinks, light refreshments, and entertainment in our Lake Shore room after your tour of the historic estate! Grab a friend and spend a night out at Ford House! Each ticket includes a tour, appetizers, and two drink tickets. The Mistletoe Mingle takes place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 14.

Edsel & Eleanor Ford House is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization and National Historic Landmark dedicated to preserving and sharing the legacy of the Ford Family. Ford House is located at 1100 Lake Shore Rd. in Grosse Pointe Shores. The historic lakeside estate was the family home of Edsel Ford – Henry and Clara Ford’s only son – where he lived with his wife Eleanor and their children beginning in 1928.
