Bird Island Opens This Weekend!
Posted: April 8, 2021

We are excited to re-open our wonderful Bird Island to walkers starting Saturday, April 10! The nature preserve has been closed to visitors during our construction,

The island is a favorite perch for migrating birds to stop for a while on their annual trips. It was a favorite spot for the Fords, too. They loved walking in nature and bird watching on the island.

You can walk on Bird Island with your Ford House Grounds Pass. A pass is just $5, and free for children 5 and under. Ford House members are always free! Click here for details and to purchase a pass.

Please remember we don’t allow dogs on the island, as it is a refuge for wildlife. And please stay clear of our new Visitor Center and Administration Buildings, for your safety and our staff's safety. Construction is nearly done, but we still have heavy equipment and workers in the area.
