ABOUT THIS EVENT:

Join us at Ford House for a special evening celebrating the opening of our newest exhibition, Wish You Were Here: Unpacking Ford Family Travel.

This captivating new exhibit invites you to journey alongside Eleanor, Edsel, and their children as they travel the world between 1915 and 1936. From the volcanic landscapes of Hawai‘i to the cultural capitals of Europe, the Fords’ travels shaped their worldview, values, and lasting impact on the community.

Through rarely seen photographs, travel ephemera, and historical materials from Ford House archives, Wish You Were Here explores how travel influenced the family’s aesthetic, philanthropic efforts, and Eleanor Ford’s eventual decision to share Ford House with the public.

Guests at the opening reception will be among the first to experience the exhibition in the Gaukler Pointe Gallery, located on the first floor of the Visitor Center. Admission is free.

Enjoy light refreshments, explore The Ford Family Story permanent exhibit, and make a night of it with dinner or drinks at The Continental, Ford House’s boutique restaurant featuring seasonally inspired cuisine and a full bar in a lakeside setting.
