Education Group Tours

Grades PreK-12

$7 per student and adult chaperone | Free for teachers
We are now offering a 60-minute guided experience for K-2 and a 90-minute guided experience for 3-12. Bring your classroom for a grade-appropriate experience developed around state content standards. Students will engage in discussion, play, and critical thinking in a learner-centered environment. Reinforce learning with a hands-on project or sensory station.

Camps & Homeschools

$7 per student and adult chaperone | Free for teachers
Bring your students for a grade-appropriate experience. School group tours are developed around state content standards in science, art, or history. Students will engage in critical thinking, discussion, and play, in a learner-centered environment. Learning will be reinforced with a hands-on project or activity. Programs are 90-120 minutes depending on age and topic.

Scouts

$7 per scout and adult | Free for troop leaders
Earn a badge while exploring the main residence, grounds, or exhibit spaces. Reinforce learning with a hands-on project.

College

$10 per student | Free for faculty
Explore historical and contemporary issues. Facilitated conversations and experiential learning opportunities await.

Ignite your child's curiosity with Ford House's Explorers program! Tailored for ages 6 to 10, this outdoor adventure unveils the wonders of nature. Guided by Ford House educators, children play and explore while learning about the natural world. Foster a lifelong love for the outdoors as they uncover secrets of their environment.

Family Workshop

Gather your family for a fun-filled afternoon at Ford House's Family Workshop! Explore various hands-on programs, from maple syrup tapping to art making, fostering shared learning and joy. Lectures

Maker Studio

Explore your artistic side at Ford House's Maker Studio. This program is for adults to learn and experiment with different art types, guided by skilled artists and teachers. Embrace self-expression in a supportive environment, forging friendships while honing new skills. Whether a beginner or seasoned creator, unleash your boundless creativity in this transformative space.

Snowy Saturdays

Join us for a wintery expedition, exploring the grounds at Ford House this winter! Borrow a pair of snowshoes from Ford House (limited availability) or bring your own snowshoes or skis. You'll travel through the snow-covered Meadow. After your adventure, warm up inside with a complimentary cup of hot cocoa. This program is dependent on the snowfall. Each ticket guarantees one person snowshoe time for up to 30 minutes. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are only allowed at Ford House during Snowy Saturdays with a ticket.

Storytime

Join us for the enchanting Storytime at Ford House, a free experience designed for children aged 7 and younger. Immerse your little ones in the magic of storytelling. Here, imagination takes flight amid beautifully crafted tales. Storytime includes activities inspired by the story that nurture creativity, and curiosity. Each month will have a new story and activity and takes place on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the Visitor Center., Storytime is a terrific way to inspire a love of reading.

Trivia Night

Dive into an evening of lively competition and laughter at Ford House's Trivia Night! Gather your crew for an exhilarating test of knowledge spanning history, pop culture, science, sports, and more. Engage in friendly rivalry and vie for fantastic prizes in a buzzing atmosphere. Let your inner trivia guru shine as you create unforgettable memories in a thrilling, fun-filled event. Join us for an unforgettable evening of camaraderie, entertainment, and brain-teasing excitement! Snacks are provided and adult beverages are available for purchase at The Speedster.

Wellness Series

Rejuvenate at Ford House's Wellness Series, offering Yoga, Thai Chi for Health, and Pilates classes. Elevate your well-being as seasoned instructors guide you through revitalizing sessions in serene surroundings. Rediscover harmony of mind and body, through classes tailored to all levels. Immerse yourself in this nurturing space, fostering vitality, and inner balance.

School Tour Information

All groups should allow for a minimum of 90 minutes for their visit to accommodate for arrival, orientation, bathroom breaks, travel on the estate, and departure. Tardiness may impact tour plan. Arrival more than 30 minutes late may result in cancellation. Please email grouptours@fordhouse.org or call 313-884-4222 to schedule a visit with at least 3 weeks' notice.
