Paint Out! - Sold Out

The Ford House Paint Out is an outdoor event designed to re-energize the 19th-century practice of en plein air, a French phrase meaning “in the open air,” describing the process of painting a landscape outdoors.

All skill levels are welcome for this daylong program.  Bring your easel, paintbox, and a sunhat for a day of painting in our beautiful, 87-acre historic landscape on Lake St. Clair. You will find a great variety of subjects, including lake views, paths, historic architecture, and gardens. You will also have the opportunity to submit your paintings for juried prizes of $1,000, $500, and $250.

Admission is $30 for members, $35 for non-members

*At 6 pm that evening, please join us for our Paint Out: Fresh Paint Party. Artists and guests can view the jurors’ awards, enjoy hors d’oeuvres and a glass of wine, and see the paintings on a stroll through the landscape. Tickets to that event can be purchased here.
